Concert - The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra

The Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra with chief conductor Susanna Mälkki is the orchestra of Finland’s national composer Jean Sibelius and has had the honour to premiere many of the legendary composer’s major orchestral pieces. The orchestra’s concert programme during Finland's Presidency of the Council of the EU in the second half of 2019 will feature Sibelius’s Symphony No. 5, a stirring composition that was inspired by the surrounding nature.

Having debuted in Los Angeles and received its Finnish premiere last August, Zimmermann Trio demonstrates choreographer Tero Saarinen’s insightful ability to weave together live music, dance and visual design in a compelling way.
