Towards chemical pesticide-free agriculture
As part of the preparation of Horizon Europe, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research (INRA), the German Federal Research Centre for Cultivated Plants (JKI), the Leibniz Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (ZALF) initiated the development of a scientific priority on “Towards chemical pesticide-free agriculture”. This initiative aims to build a consensus around this transversal priority, to identify specific scientific topics to address and to co-construct the corresponding research programs. To set the wheel in motion, a first workshop was organized by INRA in Paris on October 5th, 2018, and a second workshop by JKI and ZALF in Berlin on May 17th, 2019, to gather the key European organizations working in the field.
As a follow-up, the Natural Resources Institute Finland (Luke) and the Finnish Organic Research Institute have the pleasure to invite you to the third workshop. It will take place on October 23rd, 2019 in Helsinki (Finland) at 9:00 – 16:00.
The aim of the workshop is to jointly elaborate the position paper for a strategic research and innovation agenda that can be presented to and discussed with research policy representatives at national and European level. The workshop will build upon results of the two workshops held in Paris in October 2018 and in Berlin May 2019. The workshop will be structured around the five working groups:
WG1: Biological Management of Crop Health
WG2: Genetics and new species for new services
WG3: Technology, modelling and agro-equipment
WP4: Agri-food system transition and societal adoption
WG5: Drivers and impacts
